Meet your clinician
Welcome to Cotswold Denture Clinic.
My career began back in 1989, training as a dental technician alongside my uncle. After spending years making dentures in the laboratory, I opened my own laboratory in January 2000 and later qualified as a Clinical Dental Technician in 2010.
Here at our Poulton clinic, I provide denture care from your first consultation through to fitting and aftercare. We’ll take time to discuss what you need, explain your options and answer your questions, so you know what to expect at each stage.

Beyond the dates
The experience behind the care you receive.
Learning to make dentures was where it all began. Working with patients gave that work a different perspective: a denture has to feel right for the person wearing it, as well as look right on the laboratory bench.
My training took me to George Brown College in Toronto, Canada. Later, gaining my UK qualification through the Royal College of Surgeons of England allowed me to bring clinical care into my work as a Clinical Dental Technician.
Over the years, that work has taken me from small laboratory teams to facilities with more than 50 technicians, as well as running my own laboratory. Each setting has added to my understanding of the details that matter — the shape and position of the teeth, the appearance of a smile, and how a denture fits.

Here in Poulton, those details start with a conversation. We’ll talk about what you find comfortable, what has been difficult and what you hope to change. That helps us plan your dentures around your day-to-day life. You can see more of the process in our guide to how partial dentures stay in place.
Some patients also need help with their remaining teeth. In those cases, I work alongside dentist colleagues, including when someone hasn’t seen a dentist for a while. Any extractions are carried out by a dentist; my part is planning and providing the dentures as treatment and healing progress. Our denture prescription guide explains how that works.
Whether you’re considering your first denture or need help with an existing set, we can start by talking through your questions. Book a consultation with me, or call our team on 01793 540128.

How our dentures are made
Your dentures are handmade by our own experienced laboratory team, using modern materials and techniques chosen for your individual treatment plan.
For acrylic denture bases, we use Ivoclar’s IvoBase injection-moulding system. Its controlled injection and polymerisation process uses PMMA materials to produce precise, carefully finished bases.

Cotswold Denture Clinic is a trading name of our laboratory business, which supports our clinics and denture services.
Clinical care and technical knowledge
Our clinic is led by Simon Miles, a qualified Clinical Dental Technician (CDT), trained in both making and fitting dentures.
From your consultation through to fitting and aftercare, Simon oversees your denture care. Seeing the same clinician helps keep your plan clear and personal.
We talk through what you need and what you would like to change, then explain the options for full dentures, partial dentures, repairs or replacements.
We explain the clinical and laboratory stages in plain language. Where a dentist’s assessment or referral is needed, we’ll explain this before treatment progresses.
CDTs can provide complete dentures directly for patients with no natural teeth, roots or implants. If you have remaining teeth or implants, a dentist’s involvement is required for assessment and referral before treatment.
